Why I Choose Not to Accept Health Insurance

My practice is  private-pay and does not participate in health insurance networks.

My decision to remain independent of insurance networks is rooted in a simple belief: healing should be guided by the needs of the individual, not the limitations of an insurance policy.

Each person arrives with a unique history, different needs, and their own rhythm of healing. Some seek relief from physical discomfort. Others come during periods of stress, exhaustion, emotional difficulty, or simply because they feel disconnected from themselves.  One of my favorite ways to support patients is through regular wellness visits, creating space for preventative care, restoration, and maintaining balance before concerns become more significant.

This independence gives me the freedom to approach each person individually, allowing treatment decisions to be guided by their unique needs.

My treatments are intentionally unhurried, allowing time to listen, explore, and understand what your body may be communicating.  Drawing upon acupuncture, massage, energy work, and sound healing, I thoughtfully weave together different healing modalities to create a deeply personalized experience that honors both body and spirit.

Rather than moving from one appointment to the next as quiickly as possible, I have chosen to create a practice  where meaningful, attentive care remains the priority.

An Investment in your Well-being

I also recognize that choosing to invest in your health and well-being is a financial consideration.  Although I do not bill health insurance, I want to help make ongoing care as manageable and accessible as possible.

Here are a few ways I can help:

1) Clear, transparent pricing:  You'll know the cost of your treatment before your appointment, without unexcpected insurance-related charges.  See below for pricing.

2) HSA and FSA Accounts:  Acupuncture is generally an eligible medical expense, and you may be able to use your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account for your treatment, depending on your plan.

3) Out-of-network reimbursement: Depending on your insurance policy, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement.  Upon request, I can provide an itemized receipt or superbill for eligible services that you can submit to your provider. Reimbursement is not gaurenteed.

4)) Seasonal Specials:  Occasional seasonal offerings and special rates can be found on the home page.

My intention is to work with you to find a thoughtful balance between the care you need and what is financially comfortable for you.  I understand not accepting insurance means my practice may not be the right fit for everyone, and I respect that.

For those seeking something more personal, I offer a different kind of healing experience - one that honors the wisdom of traditional medicine, the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and the understanding that health is more than the absence of illness.
